We're looking for a missing dog. We have this picture, see? Your dog looks like the dog in the picture. Doris: And what about you, son? It's nine o'clock. Aren't you going to school today? Joe: Uh, no, . . . uh, I'm not. Sam: How come? Joe: Well, I don't go some days. Doris: That's too bad. Teens need to go to school. Joe: Most days I go. Doris: Why not every day? It's hard to learn if you don't go. Joe: I know. But sometimes I just need a day off. Sam: Come on, Doris. We have to get back to the office. Doris: So long, Joe. Joe: So long . . . Uh, wait a minute. How do you know my name? Doris: Your parents. They're worried about you. They want to know where you go when you don't go to school. We're helping them, Joe. Joe: Really? Doris: Really. They love you, Joe. You need to talk to them. Joe: No, I can't talk to them. They don't understand.
