William Howard Taft

William Howard Taft
William Howard Taft, known for his immense size, was Theodore Roosevelt's hand-picked successor as president. Taft won, but Roosevelt was so unimpressed with his policies that he ran against his successor in the 1912 election. Their candidacies split the Republican vote, allowing Democratic nominee Woodrow Wilson to win.
