About the Student

Julie Johnson is also beginning her senior year at the University of South Dakota where she is majoring in English Education, and minoring in History and Spanish. After college she plans to teach high school English. Julie prepared her article, "Women of the Confederacy," during her sophomore year, as a final project for professor Kurt H. Hackemer's Civil War History class. The project was originally published in coyotE.
