Internet Activities

First, go to the links page for Chapter 2 and find the link to On Narrative. Read the entertaining essay. Now, think of a story of yours that you like to tell to friends and write a short analysis of its structure. What might Aristotle say about your story? What elements of drama do you incorporate? If you need help, follow the Elements of Drama link to get ideas.

After reading the chapter, do a web search from Google.com on the word tragedy and on comedy. You can add more descriptive words to narrow the search, such as drama. Browse through the sites and pick one to recommend to your fellow students.

We want you to consider the Internet as a dramatic form. By now you have examined many web pages and sites. Do any of these sites suggest or utilize elements of drama? Can a website have a plot or rising action or exposition? Write a short response citing potential examples of dramatic elements in web design.

Follow the link on the links page to 100 Quotes on Craft. Choose your three favorite quotes and bring them to class to share.

Follow the link to the site Structure of Plays. Read through the online seminar, then come up with an idea for a play. Make a quick outline, filling in the key dramatic elements. Will it be a tragedy? What is the basic plot? Climax? Who are the characters?

Come up with a list of the Top 5 websites that you have found for this chapter, and email the list to your classmates.
