Major Issues
In both his fiction and nonfiction writing, Ralph Lombreglia addresses the
implications of new technology for old-fashioned literary forms—like books.
He is considered an important chronicler of the turn of the 21st century electronic
culture. Lombreglia’s short stories are filled with the images, motifs, and
hardware of the digital age, but held together by conventional elements: psychologically
real characters, attention to significant details, and meticulous plotting.
This combination suggests that while lifestyles change, the crucial matters
that shape those lives do not.
