AskEric
A service of the The Educational Resources Information Center, AskEric offers two phenomenal resources for college-level writing instructors. The ERIC Database is available here, where visitors can search abstracts of nearly a million articles on education and pedagogy. The site also offers Q&A, where visitors can send research questions to ERIC's information specialists, who will respond by personal e-mail within a few days of receiving the query.
Composition and Rhetoric Bibliographical Database
Lee Honeycutt created this site, where visitors can download EndNote and Refer/BibIX archives containing citations for all of the articles from ten of the leading rhetoric and composition journals, and an archive of essays in published anthologies. Users who wish to search this collection online can now find it available by clicking here.
Computers and Composition: Comprehensive Bibliography
The journal Computers and Composition offers this list of frequently cited articles and books on computers and composition, and all of the articles that have appeared in the C&C journal itself. The collection is used to check citations in articles being prepared for publication in the journal, but it can be useful for researchers as well.
Scholarly Electronic Publishing Bibliography
This collection was prepared mostly for librarians and publishers, but it has some sections (such as "General Works" and "Legal Issues") that may be of interest to instructors.
Suggested Readings on Rhetoric and Composition
This Gopher site, prepared in 1994, contains lists of abstracts for articles on different aspects of teaching composition. Though the site may be rather dated now, it is very well organized and accessible.
